Biography

​

Minerva Espino joined the Biological Oceanography Group (GOB) as a lab technician in 2001. She has extensive experience with seawater quality analyses (organic matter, nutrients, etc.), as well as with phytoplankton identification by microscopy and flow cytometry, and plankton metabolism analysis. She is also responsible for the laboratory maintenance,  ensuring the correct operation and functioning of all lab equipment, and she partakes in a variety of ongoing projects carried out by the GOB. Since Minerva joined the group, she has participated in most of the projects the group got involved in, as well as in around 10 scientific cruises, and most mesocosms experiments carried out in collaboration with the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel.
